UNC-Chapel Hill Economics Professor Anusha Chari will serve on the President’s Council of Economic Advisers (CEA) for a year beginning in June 2024. As a Senior Economist at CEA, Anusha will assist in providing quantitative and qualitative analyses of the state of the economy and economic trends. She will provide economic analysis on a wide range of policy issues and participate in coordinating public policy. Her expertise will be utilized to provide insights into the role and operations of the CEA in its advisory role to the President. The experience Anusha will gain is seen as an investment towards her further professional development and, upon her return, will provide the University of North Carolina with invaluable experience about the role of research at the federal policymaking level.
