The faculty and grad students of the Economics Department took to the pitch on 12 May for the second annual Team Tiago soccer match. Both teams wore their “Team Tiago” jerseys for the event — green for graduate students and red for faculty — in honor of our colleague Tiago Pires who loved soccer above all else and who passed away unexpectedly in 2016.
The faculty played with intensity and the grad students with abandon: the first half ended with a 1-1 draw. Unfortunately, the weight of years caught up with the faculty in the second half, and the match ended with a 6-3 edge in favor of the grad students.
Tiago would have loved this game. Congratulations to the grad students for their “huge” victory!
