Franklin Street is the main East-West route through Chapel Hill. South Columbia Street, which turns into Airport Road north of Franklin Street, is the main North-South route through Chapel Hill.
This map shows the upper campus, which is the oldest section of campus. The Medical School, the football stadium, and the Dean Dome (basketball) are south from the area depicted.
Visitor parking is scarce on campus. Fortunately, Gardner Hall is a short walk from the public lots off Rosemary Street, which are marked in green at the top of the map to the right. They are very seldom full and are often the best choice. Please note that the campus parking restrictions are strictly enforced.
